Series Overview

Imagine a world where a school spelling bee has real bees that sting you if you are wrong...where detention room holds brain-sucking zombies that drool on you...where girl germs are a biological terror and the dentist is a part-time mad scientist...
This is the world of Elwood Pie!

Each story is told from the point of view of our intrepid seven-year old hero/narrator,,,the boy who collects everything. Elwood's world has evil curses, sea monsters and mechanical snowbots. His stories are bizarre interpretations of urban myths, exaggerated childhood fears and over the top neighborhood rumors. He tells it like he sees it: His parents are potatoes, his teacher is a dragon and his sidekick is a talking bunny. Elwood has no need to tell a lie, the truth is weird enough!

Like a pint-sized Alfred Hichcock hosting his own personal "Twlight Zone", episodes begin in Elwood's bedroom, a maze-like labyrinth of overflowing shelves and boxes. Here, Elwood recalls how he obtained a particular treasure, or some other story about it. A jar of zombie eyballs will spark a story of the Thanksgiving when one of them went missing. In another episode, Elwood starts out telling a story to one of the other kids, using the cheeky nostalgia of Michael Palin's "Ripping Yarns" or "The World of Commander McBragg". Still other times, a story might start with Elwood and his pet rabbit Hugo in the middle of some chaos;say, chained to the dungeon under his principal's office, and his story would explain how all this happened.
Now meet Elwood Pie!
